There was a launching ceremony of supply boat on July 1998 at Kanmon Shipyard in Shomonoseki-City, Japan. President Zamil Al-Zamil of AL-ZAMIL CO. placed the order of this boat. This boat serves for the supply of materials required for oil digging, towing of rig (a plat from for oil digging), etc.
The specifications are Length 61m, Breadth 13m, Gross tonnage 1,180 ton and 2 units of 2,200HP engines are equipped.
About 200 people including the City Mayor, Kiyoshi Ejima and Hikosima No.2 Nursery School children watched this launching while an ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Japan, Mr. Mohamed Bashir Kurdi and Mr. Al-Zamil attended the ceremony wearing Saudi traditional costume. During the ceremony, Brass Band Club students of Shimonoseki City University performed national anthem of both Saudi Arabia and Japan.
President Al-Zamil named the vessel as “ZAMIL 4”.
After an Ambassador, Mr. Kurdi cut the supporting rope, the vessel was launched in the midst of clapping hands like slipping on the building birth. This vessel was delivered on following August after the completion of interior works.
